Oak Bank Hotel is a 13 bedroom Silver Star awarded,Good Hotel Guide and Michelin recommended hotel, with The Dining Room our restaurant that has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence and is also recommended by Michelin since 2010 with a Michelin Plate Award.

HEAD CHEF, 2 Rosette, Grasmere, Cumbria, Salary Negotiable + Tips

We are looking for a chef that wishes to put themselves firmly on the map within the Cumbrian food scene.

You are probably currently working as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a very good one or two rosette establishment.  You are likely to be classically trained but use that training as a base to make outstanding dishes from quality fresh produce in a modern style.  You should have a good all round knowledge of all kitchen sections but particularly sauce. You’ll be a self motivated, well organised individual with excellent food safety awareness and good communication.  You’ll only be limited by your imagination and capability.

We are 2 AA Rosette & Michelin Plate awarded. The Dining Room is our 30 Cover Restaurant, within Oak Bank Hotel, Grasmere Village, Cumbria, LA22 9TA

We serve Breakfast and Dinner with some lounge orders and an occasional room service order. We tend not to take any functions including weddings allowing our chefs to concentrate wholly on producing very good food for The Dining Room.  This means you should not work excessive hours (average hours will be in the 40’s based on current totals) or be hammered on covers, that said we want a chef that wants to continue to learn, achieve and turn out the best food they can.

5 days from 7.

28 days paid holiday per year.

Please note you will not have to work Christmas Eve/Christmas Day/Boxing Day as we are closed.

Salary: Competitive (by Negotiation), Depending on Experience + Tips

Meals on duty.

Temporary live in may be available if required.

You must be legally able to work in the UK, have a good command of both written and spoken English and be able to attend a working interview.
