Oak Bank Hotel in Grasmere
Nestled in Grasmere Village in the heart of the English Lake District, Oak Bank Hotel is perfectly placed to explore the surrounding lakes, fells and tarns.
Oak Bank has two lounges both with plenty of comfy sofas and armchairs to relax in. The front lounge has a converted range and the bar lounge has a real log & coal fire and unsurprisingly a bar! We offer free Wi-Fi internet access for those of you who need to keep in touch with the outside world.
The Dining Room is our Two AA Rosette awarded Restaurant. The Head Chef is Eddie Kilty. The beautiful dining room and conservatory overlooks the garden which you are welcome to sit in or walk down to see the River Rothay as it passes by on its way to Lake Grasmere. We serve Breakfast and Dinner in The Dining Room and Morning Coffee in our lounges every day.
Oak Bank has thirteen individually decorated en-suite Bedrooms in different grades to suit your requirements. Five standard rooms on the second floor have been taken out and have been replaced by four bedrooms in a new grade of Superior View. The beds are probably the comfiest beds in Grasmere made by Somnus or VI Spring.
Park your car at the front of the hotel and you could leave it there for the duration of your stay!
Oak Bank Hotel is the highest rated AA graded three star hotel in Grasmere with the high merit score of 83% (June '15) and has been awarded two rosettes for culinary excellence since 2010 by the AA. We are one of just two hotels in Grasmere to have an entry in the 2015 Good Hotel Guide and are recommended separately for the hotel and restaurant, of which we are the one and only restaurant in Grasmere; in a certain red guide; both guides you cannot buy into and we don't do too badly on TripAdvisor either, just to blow our own trumpet a little!
Whether you can only stay for one night or a week, with our friendly yet professional hospitality, good food and comfortable accommodation, we assure you that our aim is to make your break or holiday a peaceful and relaxing one.
